Penal man charged with murder of older brother

A Penal man has appeared before a Siparia Magistrate, charged with the murder of his elder brother, Ricky Harripersad, which occurred on Monday 29th January, 2018.

Brian Harripersad, 29, a labourer of San Francique Road, Penal, appeared before Magistrate Margaret Alert in the Siparia 1st Magistrates’ Court, on Friday 2nd February, 2018 to answer to the charge.

The matter was adjourned to Friday 2nd March, 2018.

Health Ministry congratulates all involved in Madamas rescue

The Ministry of Health is commending the collaborative efforts of the staff of the Ministry of Health, and other key public sector agencies, which guaranteed the successful rescue of campers, including a pregnant woman and a diabetic male, who were marooned in Madamas Bay, Matelot.

On Tuesday 30th January, 2018 officers attached to the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) and the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) were informed of several persons who were stranded at Madamas Bay. 

Water disruptions in South-East Trinidad today

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of South East Trinidad, served by the Navet Water Treatment Plant, that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply today - Friday February 2, 2018, from 10: a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to carry out emergency repairs to a ruptured 36” diameter transmission main in the vicinity of the Plant.
