T&T finishes 10th at Indoor Hockey World Cup

T&T's stickmen finished tenth at the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup on Saturday morning after Losing 3-2 to Russia in their final game.

Within the first ten minutes, the Russians rushed out front with a 2-0 lead. First, in the sixth minute, Dmitriy Kuraev scored then four minutes later, Pavel Golubev doubled the lead.

In the 20th minute, Jordan Vieira pulled a goal back for the local boys, before Akim Toussaint leveled the scores in the 33rd minute.

Relatives plead for help in locating missing 16-year-old girl

The relatives of a missing 16-year-old girl are pleading for the public's assistance in finding her.

Keanu Payne, a Form 4 student of the Tranquillity Government Secondary School was last seen two weeks ago on January 27th and her father's home on Cipriani Extension, Morvant.

The girl stays both with her father and her mother who also lives in Morvant on Laurier Street.

A report has been made to the Morvant Police Station but to date there have been no leads.

MY EYE: Pothole on Mahaica Road

Sheldon tells us: "One of several potholes posing a danger to motorists traversing Mahaica Road. The holes are across both lanes and drivers have to cross lanes or drive off the road to avoid having to go into them. In addition there is overgrown brush along both sides of the road posing addition hazards to motorists."

MY EYE: Missing puppy

Zafar says the puppy is missing from the Santa Cruz area.

It is a black male pitbull puppy, with a bit of white on its chest and toes.

Stickmen beaten 7-2 in World Cup opener

T&T's hockey men were given a rude awakening in their opening Indoor World Cup match against the Czech Republic on Wednesday morning, losing 7-2.

Within the first ten minutes of the game, T&T found itself 4-0 down. Jakub Kyndl opened the scoring in the third minute while David Vacek doubled the lead a mere minute after. Two minutes later in the sixth minute, Lukas Plochy made it 3-0 to the Czechs.
