WI's 7-wicket loss to England in ODI means no direct entry into 2019 World Cup

Jonny Bairstow struck a maiden one-day international hundred as England condemned West Indies to a seven-wicket defeat at Old Trafford on Tuesday that means the twice former champions can no longer gain direct entry to the 2019 World Cup.

West Indies, the 1975 and 1979 World Cup winners, had to take this five-match series 5-0 or 4-0 with a tie or no result if they were to avoid the indignity of a qualifying competition for the next edition in England in two years' time.

Carib to donate bar proceeds from CPL final to hurricane relief efforts

Carib has announced that all proceeds from its bar sales at the final of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) tonight, will go to Hurricane Relief efforts.

The Trinbago Knight Riders face the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in tonight's final at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba from 9pm.

Carib said in a statement that this is part of a bigger initiative by Carib Brewery across the region in support of those in the Caribbean affected by the devastating storms.

Sport: Cristiano Ronaldo wants Real Madrid exit

Cristiano Ronaldo has told Real Madrid he wants to quit the club as he is unhappy playing football in Spain.

The news comes just days after he was accused of tax evasion which the Portuguese strongly denies.

"The simple facts are that Cristiano Ronaldo is unhappy at playing in Spain at the moment," Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.

"If you remember just in the past few days, Spanish prosecutors have accused him of avoiding €15m in tax by using offshore companies to divert his image rights payments.

Sport: NBA champions unanimously decide not to meet with President Donald Trump at White House

The 2017 NBA Champions Golden State Warriors unanimously decided as a team not to meet Donald Trump in the White House, as is custom for winning teams. 

The Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 to seal the hard-fought series 4-1. 

It is the second championship for the California team in three years, and the third consecutive NBA finals series between the two teams. The Warriors attended the White House ceremony in their honour when they won the championship in 2015 while former President Barack Obama was in office. The Cavaliers did the same last year. 

Sport: Manchester United release striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been released by Manchester United as per the Premier League (EPL) official website.

The Swedish talisman ends his one-year association with the Old Trafford club with his contract expiry. 

The Red Devils have declined a mutual option to extend the Swedish striker's stay at Old Trafford for a further 12 months, with Ibrahimovic expected to be out until 2018 after undergoing surgery to repair his damaged cruciate ligament last month.

Sport: Manchester United, Ajax to meet in Europa League Final

Manchester United will meet Dutch giants Ajax in the Europa League final after both clubs advanced from their semifinal clashes on Thursday night.

United are just one win away from Champions League qualification after a 1-1 draw over Celta Vigo at Old Trafford to book their place in the Europa final 2-1 on aggregate.

Ajax's big win from the first leg was just enough to see them past Lyon, who won the second leg 3-1 but fell a goal short of reaching the final as the Dutch club advanced 5-4 on aggregate.
