A Freeport taxi-driver is now in police custody, hours after being accused of raping a 32-year-old woman, who was a passenger in his vehicle.
The woman escaped possible further harm by freeing herself from the trunk of the vehicle.
The woman, of Enterprise, boarded an H-taxi, a green Nissan B14, occupied by the driver and one other passenger at St. Mary’s Junction, to go to her place of work at Arena Road, Freeport, around 8:10 am, on Thursday.
A 21-year-old Tobago police constable has been arrest charged with rape.
According to reports, around 10:55 pm on Monday 27th February 2017, the 27-year-old victim was at Renaissance Roxborough when she made prior arrangement with a man whom she knows as a police officer to take her to her home.
However, on arrival to her home, the man then requested to enter her apartment to take a rest.
The woman obliged but according to reports, the man then lifted her bodily, placed her on her bed and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with allegations of rape involving a 13-year-old girl.
Reports are the teenager was found at a house in east Trinidad by police and told police she had been taken there by a 27-year-old man.
The teen says she was assaulted at the house.
The girl was dressed in her school uniform when police found her.
Police said that the 27-year-old suspect was detained after the man was told of the assault.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Sangre Grande police station.
Quick action by officers of the Morvant Police Station this morning led to the arrest of a rape suspect, a statement by the Police Service said.
A 31-year-old Morvant resident reported that she was accosted and raped by an unknown cutlass-wielding assailant at around 10:00 pm on Sunday 18th December, 2016, as she walked along Lady Young Avenue, Morvant.
The woman reported being raped twice – once after being pulled into nearby bushes and again after being taken to a nearby abandoned building.

33-year-old Afteba Huggins of South Oropouche, was read the charges by Magistrate Amina Deonarinesingh when he appeared in the Siparia Magistates' Court.
Court prosecutor Seargent Anthony Baptiste objected to bail.
Huggins was told he could apply to a judge in chambers for bail.
A taxi driver is in police custody after abducting and raping a female police officer Monday morning as she left home to provide security at a polling station.
The man is also likely to be charged with attempted murder as police say he also shot at the woman but missed.
According to report, the female police officer had left her home in South Trinidad around 3 am and when she boarded the taxi she was the only passenger.
Police say the man then drove to a gas station and later proceeded in direction away from the polling station.
