PM invites India to participate in healthcare at Couva Hospital

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi engaged in bilateral discussions during the first official day of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) today, the Office of the Prime Minister said Thursday.

Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dennis Moses was also present for the talks.
 
Prime Minister Modi indicated during the meeting that his Government was interested in partnering with Trinidad and Tobago in the areas of information communication technology (ICT), energy and pharmaceuticals. 

PM off to London, nationals facing UK deportation threat

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley left for London yesterday and is expected to meet with representatives of the UK diaspora who are eager to discuss Britain’s impending deportation of thousands of West Indians who have not been naturalised in the UK.

The West Indians, including T&T nationals, known as the Windrush generation, went to Britain on the Empire Windrush cruise ship in 1948 to rebuild the UK after World War II on Britain’s invitation.

PM heads to London on Sunday for CHOGM

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley will leave for London on April 15, 2018 to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

The accompanying delegation will include Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dennis Moses and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, Stuart Young.
 
In addition to attending this forum the prime minister will engage in a series of meetings with energy companies during this period.
