Member of Parliament Ramona Ramdial has called for the resignation of the Board of Directors of Angostura Holdings Limited and for a new investigation to be launched into the sexual harassment allegations.

The Honourable Ramona Ramdial, Member of Parliament for Couva North is calling for the immediate resignation of the Board of Directors of Angostura Holdings Limited and for a new investigation to be launched into the sexual harassment allegations made by a former female employee.

EMA investigates claims of odours emanating from Angostura compound

The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) has initiated an investigation into reports of unbearable odours coming from Angostura Limited.

This follows a protest by residents of Beetham today at the Angostura compound.

The EMA says it was notified of the concerns of the protesting residents related to the odours, said to be emanating from the drainage system in the vicinity of Angostura Ltd.’s facilities.

Angostura appoint independent committee to investigate sexual harassment allegations against chairman

The Board of Directors of Angostura Holdings has met on allegations of sexual harassment involving its chairman.

A statement from the company says that the Chairman, Dr. Rolph Balgobin was not present at the meeting.

It says that at the meeting, the Board unanimously resolved that a committee of three independent persons will be appointed to carry out an impartial investigation into the allegations made by the
anonymous whistleblower.
