Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar has added her voice to the tributes pouring in for the late historian, Angelo Bissessarsingh. He died this morning after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. In her tribute, the opposition leader lamented that Bissessarsingh died just a few weeks shy of the publication of his latest book. She is also suggesting that his work is included in the nation school curriculum so that he continues to live among us as a great storyteller and narrator of our lives.
Historian, author and national award recipient Angelo Bissessarsingh has died.
The 33-year-old who was battling with pancreatic cancer passed away at his Siparia home at ten this morning. His family said he died peacefully while being read to by his aunt.
Bissessarsingh who was recently awarded the Hummingbird Gold Medal for his service in the field of education and history.
Bissessarsingh was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2015 and was initially given six months to live.
