Thousands of government opponents have flooded some of the principal streets in Venezuela’s capital to pressure the government to hold a referendum vote this year on Nicolas Maduro’s presidency.
The protesters are chanting, “It’s going to fall, it’s going to fall, the government is going to fall.”
They are carrying Venezuelan flags and signs with slogans such as “We are 30 million reasons to revoke him.”
The demonstrators have come from states all over the country.
Today's protest follows a massive public demonstration on Wednesday.
The opposition called a mass protest against President Nicolas Maduro, the political heir of Hugo Chavez, who succeeded the late left-wing firebrand in 2013.
Since then, Venezuela has plunged even deeper into corruption and economic paralysis.
The opposition, which won an unprecedented majority in Congress in last December’s election, is trying to force a “recall” referendum to remove Mr Maduro.
